Google this, sucka

Sergey Brin and Larry Page, U.S.
Net Worth: $1 billion, $1 billion
Ages: 31, 31

Stanford grad pals created Internet search engine Google in late 1990s. The search engine, whose name has now been popularized as a verb, scours content from more than 3 billion Web sites. Performing well: posted ten consecutive profitable quarters. Duo raised $25 million from venture capital firms in 1999; partners' stake worth more than $1 billion, perhaps far greater if long-expected IPO lives up to the hype.

Your men are already dead

Got the dvd player working on my computer last night. Guess what was the first movie watched on it? Pretty cool feature that I can take still images of whatever scene I'm on. I know this is old technology, but it's the first time I've been able to use it.

The O'Reilly Factor - Interview - Gibson on 'The Passion'

Transcript:: "GIBSON: Well, I think any time you delve into this sort of religion, politics, as you well know, you're going to, you know, touch a few nerves. I wasn't -- now -- and this is the honest truth.
I didn't think it was -- it was a small film, OK. This is a small film. It looks big because I know how to do it, but this ignited stuff like -- it surprised me. I found it staggering. I mean, every morning, I opened up the newspaper expecting to find a digitally altered photograph of myself sharing a cigarette with a handsome farm animal, you know. "

stunning

This is where I talk about The Passion of the Christ. I'm still not sure what to say. After I was done watching it I was stunned. I didn't really feel anything. It's affecting me more this morning than it did last night. I had a little trouble falling asleep last night, too. This movie is very disturbing. Frustrating. If it was a normal movie, then Jesus would've had his revenge against the guards. Fought back, did something. Instead, he just took it. The beatings were awful. That image will stay with me for a long time. I keep flashing back to it this morning. I feel very subdued this morning. I just want to be alone. And yet I want to tell everyone about this movie. Tell everyone to see it. I'm listening to Third Day Offerings II right now and the song is You Are So Good To Me. The lyric was:
You poured out all Your blood;
You died upon the cross.
You are my Jesus Who loves me.
You are my Jesus Who loves me.

I'm beginning to really understand.

Awesome

I think I can do this.

Philadelphia Daily News | 02/23/2004 | Tough stuff: "Nice work if you can get it
Want to make some quick cash? Become a NASCAR 'field filler' like Kirk Shelmerdine and Joe Ruttman. They both got to race in the Subway 400 in Rockingham, N.C., because there was a shortage of full-time competitors.
Shelmerdine placed next-to-last after being called off the track for driving too slow. (He was lapped in 8 minutes.) Ruttman, who placed last, was pulled after one lap because he didn't have a pit crew. By the way, Shelmerdine made $54,895, while Rutmann got $54,196."

had to scratch the itch

Just had to try benching 205 lbs today. It was after our workout was done. Felt pretty good. Didn't get it, but I was pretty close. I think I'll be able to do it in a couple of weeks. The hardest part was the beginning push off from when the bar was setting on my chest. Once Shawn helped me get it going I felt like I could lift it. Must work on the explosion.

I did horribly

80s music Quiz only 6 right. I'm embarrassed.

2nd floor

Timothy walked out of the bathroom to head back to his office. The bathroom on his floor was out of service so he had to use the one on the second floor. Behind him he could hear footsteps echoing in the hallway. He glanced over his right shoulder to see a young couple walking arm in arm down the hall. "That's odd," he thought. "No one works on this floor." He turned around to get a better look just in time to see the man pulling out a gun from underneath his trenchcoat. As the man cocked the rifle, Timothy decided he needed to get out of there. The stairs were too far away. There was an opening in the center of the building on every floor. This was the only way out for Timothy. Shots rang out all around him as Timothy jumped over the banister. "What is going on?" raced through his mind during the fall. As he crashed into the floor he felt his ankle snap. Pain shot through his leg and hands. With no time to think about the pain, Timothy rolled to the nearest office and pushed the door open. He crawled inside and asked the receptionist to call 911. Finally Timothy screamed out in agony.

St Louis Sports Forum -> Change In Direction In Cardinal Front Office? Ron Schandler and the people at baseballhq will be helping out the cardinals. They bring a more stat minded approach than what the Cards are used to. I think it's great.

Good news for Dodger fans

MSNBC - Interview: 'You Want Me To Play Jesus?'

MSNBC - Interview: 'You Want Me To Play Jesus?': "The long scene where Jesus gets scourged with metal lashes is incredibly difficult to watch.
There was a board on my back, about a half-inch thick, so the Roman soldiers wouldn't hit my back. But one of the soldiers missed, hit me flush on the back and ripped the skin right off. I couldn't scream, I couldn't breathe. It's so painful that it shocks your system. I looked over at the guy, and I probably said the F word. Within a couple of strokes he missed again. There's like a 14-inch scar on my back . So we had good days and bad days."

time is tickin away

Thinking about pulling an all-niter. I need to do my wild at heart study, watch at least 3 episodes of 24, read true notebooks, finish online! the book and see my family. Plus there's work stuff to do and I have to workout at lunch. This 24 thing is really getting in the way. Fortunately we only have 15 episodes left. I think. Math is hard.

political dressing

I've been wondering how easy it would be to get a bunch of free political t-shirts. All these people running for something, surely they'd give this stuff away. I'm sure they'd make nice workout t-shirts. Maybe I'll go ask the democrats in the building if they have any freebies.

Hey I'm no sesquipedalian

Didn't workout yesterday. Seems like when I first start working out I always get sick. Must push through this sickness. Why isn't thru a real word?

JD Drew chat

Atlanta Braves News:
"amettrick: Hey J.D. I've been a Cardinals fan for life. I was sad to see you go and I hope you have a lot of success in Atlanta. I was just wondering if you hold any resentment toward the Cards or St. Louis?

Drew: No, not at all. If anything, it's kind of a relief not having to hear the trade talks anymore. Sometimes the business side really takes over and the Cards needed some pitching. I enjoyed my time in St. Louis and wish it could have worked out. But I understand why it didn't"

workout

Little update. Did 155 lbs on the bench press today 8/8/6 reps. Pretty happy with that. The first attempt at the 200 lbs bench press will be at the end of this month. Will this time be different than the others? Yes. I can see it now. Tomorrow will be awful, squats and lunges on the same day. Who put this plan together?

To End All Wars

Finished the book To End All Wars Sunday. It was an interesting read. The book is written by a former POW of a Japanese prison camp during World War II. It was quite an eye opener. I did not know much about the Japanese side of the war. All you seem to hear about is the German stuff. The Japanese were truly awful. Very inhumane treatment of their prisoners. What I got out of the story, though, is how the prisoners reacted to their time in the camps. At first they lived by "jungle law" meaning they only looked out for themselves. They became Christians over time and they became obsessed with helping others. If they can help others in their darkest time, why can't I be like that? They visited the sick and wounded. They cared for the weak. They brought food and company to those who had neither. They shared their books that they smuggled in. I can honestly say I do not have that kind of heart right now. I do not look for ways to serve. I have a bad attitude when it comes to helping others if it disrupts my schedule. It is something to ponder.

Duke is Duke

Great day in college hoops on Saturday. Kentucky, Purdue, and North Carolina all lost to unranked teams and Duke beat Georgia Tech in a tough game. This week is rivalry week so there will be some good games going on. None bigger than Gonzaga/Pepperdine. Wait, Duke/UNC this Thursday. 8pm CDT. ESPN2. Be there. It's at UNC so I'm a little nervous. Can you say hostile environment? I knew you could.

Who?
