CBS 2 - New York News: Burt Reynolds Slap Attack At NYC Premiere: "Actor Burt Reynolds slapped a CBS assistant producer in the face at a movie premiere in New York City.

The producer was asking Reynolds, 69, about his new movie 'The Longest Yard' outside the premiere in Chelsea Tuesday night when the actor became annoyed.

'You don't know anything about the movie?' Reynolds asked.

The producer acknowledged he hadn't seen it or the original 1974 version. Reynolds then slapped the producer. 'What ... kind of guy are you?' he asked.

Jeff Lane, a spokesman for Reynolds, said in a statement that Reynolds 'playfully tapped (the producer) on the cheek, as if to say, 'Well, that's not very nice.' He was kidding.'"

Happy as a little girl

Well, I tried. I tried not to let my expectations get too high for this last installment of Star Wars. The last two movies have been so disappointing. I just wanted to go in not expecting anything and then if it is crappy then I would say, "Yeah, thought it would be." But...that isn't the case. I'm downright excited to go. I'll be viewing it tonight, hopefully. w00t!!111!

PlayStation 3 launch - Joystiq

Engadget & Joystiq’s live coverage of Sony’s PlayStation 3 launch: "Sony’s let go of the final specs and shots of the PlayStation 3. Here you go!

* It will support Blu-ray (obviously), DVD+-R/W, CD-R/RW
* Backwards compatible with the PlayStation 2 and original Playstation
* One 3.2GHz Cell processor—total system performance rated at 2.18 teraflops (uh, that’s actually about twice what Microsoft is claiming the Xbox 360 will do); it will have 256MB system RAM 3.2GHz, and 256MB GDDR VRAM at 700MHz
* The nVidia graphics will be called the RSX (”Reality Synthesizer”), and will trump the Xbox 360 with 1080p (yes, that’s a p) graphics support.
* There will be a 2.5-inch hard drive (i.e. laptop hard drive) attachment—a first for a Sony launch (no, we don’t count the PSX and/or the FF add-on)
* Memory Stick Duo slot, and very surprisingly, an SD and CF slots
* Bluetooth support with up to seven wireless controllers
* Six USB system ports"

I think that makes the decision easy. Xbox360 or ps3? PS3...

"Arrested Development" : "Hallelujah! Arrested Development fans, brace yourselves. I have some good news and--well, you might want to sit down for this--some mind-blowing, earth-shattering, out-of-this-world, fantastic news.

Earlier this week, a friend here at E! interviewed Jason Bateman at a charity event with his good friend Ben Stiller. When asked the status of Arrested Development, he lit up like a banana stand: 'Actually, great. Supergreat. There is a heartbeat. There is no flatline. And there may be twins. I'm going to let Kristin figure out what that means. I can't comment any further, but there will be an announcement next week.'"

More proof that Best Buy is actually "Worst Buy": Man arrested for paying in $2 bills

AnandTech : Man arrested for paying in $2 bills: "PUT YOURSELF in Mike Bolesta's place. On the morning of Feb. 20, he buys a new radio-CD player for his 17-year-old son Christopher's car. He pays the $114 installation charge with 57 crisp new $2 bills, which, when last observed, were still considered legitimate currency in the United States proper. The $2 bills are Bolesta's idea of payment, and his little comic protest, too.

For this, Bolesta, Baltimore County resident, innocent citizen, owner of Capital City Student Tours, finds himself under arrest.

Finds himself, in front of a store full of customers at the Best Buy on York Road in Lutherville, locked into handcuffs and leg irons. "

workspace

I would like to start working in some sort of hermetically sealed environment like once a week. I think I could be twice as productive on days like that than the rest of the week. I'm too distracted currently with all the noise and stress and bile and such. I used to not have this problem. I wonder what my deal is. I went to the bookstore to look for this book (didn't know it wasn't out yet) and I nearly had a breakdown because of all the information available. I really need a break. I think I'm going to take a day off soon just to get away. Run away from your problems, as the Jedi masters would say.

MTV: Xbox 360 coming in November?

News at GameSpot: "The listing appears to cement suspicions that the next Xbox will launch on the fourth anniversary of the original Xbox's release in mid-November 2001. However, despite the clear wording of the MTV listing, Microsoft representatives said they could not comment on it for the time being.

In the meantime, gamers have less than one week to wait until Microsoft and MTV show off the Xbox 360. MTV Presents: The Next Generation Xbox Revealed airs next Thursday at 9:30pm Eastern Time and Pacific Time. Microsoft could not confirm Central or Mountain times for the special (presumably 8:30pm and 9:30pm)."

Woman Sheds 170 Pounds With 'Backwards Diet'

NBC5.com: "Tricia Cunningham used to be overweight. She has lost nearly half her weight in one pretty bizarre diet she calls 'the backwards diet.'

With her diet, you can eat, enjoy life, and lose weight without Atkins or South Beach diets, and counting points or enrolling in expensive programs, reported WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach.

'If I can do it, anyone can do it,' said Cunningham. 'I tipped out at a maximum weight of 292 pounds. My joints and back would hurt. Even the vehicles I drove had to be bigger, because I was bigger.'

Cunningham has lost a whopping 172 pounds with her diet. She now weighs 125 and just came in second in a bikini contest.

'I woke up one morning, and looked in the mirror and said, 'this is it,'' she said.

Cunninham likes vegetables, fruit and fish, but she didn't want to starve herself or turn vegetarian, so she cooked up a plan.

Her secret is, admittedly, a little weird: Eat what you would normally eat for dinner for breakfast.

Cunningham cooks salmon, cod, or any protein she wants in a marinade of orange juice every morning.

She also likes to dump any vegetable she has into a saucepan and crack two eggs over them, making a veggie soufflé.

For dinner -- you guessed it -- she eats breakfast. Usually she eats oatmeal with shredded wheat in orange juice, not milk.

Cunningham also eats up to five cloves of garlic a day to boost her metabolism.

Her favorite drink is lemon water -- she swears by it.

On this backwards diet, Cunningham went from a size 22 to a size 1 in nine months. She has kept the weight off for more than five years."

The Trumpet Call / Our Rock-Band

Welcome to The Trumpet Call / Our Rock-Band: "God's plan for His Trumpet Call in religion, politician and in a music field.

In 1974 I prepared first Rock-album for recording and because of godless government we secretly recorded it in 1982, in secret different places of The USSR end the musicians names were in a secret, as well. You too?

Chris Montgomery got me a U2 cassette for my birthday one year. I want to say it was 4th or 5th grade which would put that around 1981-82 I think? Anyway I always thought it was The Joshua Tree but that apparently can't be true because the release date for that album, it turns out, was in 1987. So, which one did I get? I remember not liking it. I did not like U2 as a 5th grader. Now? I really like U2. Not love, but a strong like. I'm listening to the whole album of the Joshua Tree today and it's really good. I haven't listened to the whole album of anything very much lately. With the whole itunes/mp3/ipod revolution I kinda pick and choose the best from each album which is great, but albums used to be made to be listened to as a whole. There's an ebb and a flow to them that we tend to take for granted. Ah, the *good* old days.

bad things man

What's the deal with today? Lots of things going wrong. Wow.

This changes everything!

Article: "Revelation! 666 is not the number of the beast (it's a devilish 616)

A newly discovered fragment of the oldest surviving copy of the New Testament indicates that, as far as the Antichrist goes, theologians, scholars, heavy metal groups, and television evangelists have got the wrong number. Instead of 666, it's actually the far less ominous 616."

The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster

Vader Blog: "Boba Fett is one of the few people with whom I will share a meal. He was horribly disfigured by acid years ago, and I feel we hold a bond in common in that respect. He has never so much as winced at the ghastly noises that come through my ventilator while I chew, because he is a gentleman."

I want this in a painting

Rev 19:11 - 16: "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. 'He will rule them with an iron scepter.' He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."

The Veggie Tale Empire collapse

Re-use?

Q: Is it safe to re-use a disposable plastic water bottle?

By LisaTracy

A: Yes, but only up to a point. The bottles, designed for one-time use, are usually made of polyethylene, a flexible plastic that can be damaged with repeated use and washing. Some preliminary research suggests that this can release potentially harmful chemicals. But the studies have had inconsistent results, and researchers disagree about whether these compounds pose a significant risk.

A better reason not to re-use the bottles over and over is that they can become contaminated with bacteria from your hands or mouth. Bacteria don’t grow easily in water, but can thrive when saliva and food particles are present, especially if the bottle is left at room temperature

If you do refill your water bottle, do so only a few times. Before refilling, wash it in hot, soapy water, as you would anything you drink from—but not in the dishwasher. Wash the cap, too, and inside the narrow neck. Keep a re-used bottle out of heat or sunlight, which may speed degradation and increase bacterial growth.
