EMC (squared?)
I'm pretty frustrated with the whole Men's ministry experience that I've had so far. I'm supposed to be lining up people to help with registrations at each church service and it's not been going well. So far only Todd. Todd's friend who's name escapes me, Paul and Jeff Hudson have helped out. So yesterday I got to thinking about it and realized that I'm trying to hard to do it and not relying enough on God to get it done. And then during the Wild at Heart video last night John Elderidge was talking about doing stuff for God but trying to do it all by yourself. Without God = Godless. So I've been guilty of that and decided I'm just going to let God worry about getting guys to help out. Then after class I was waiting on Rick Riley to finish talking to some other people because I wanted to talk to him about the EMC simulcast. Something (err God) kept telling me to talk to this one guy there. So I kind of followed him around the room and then he left. Rick showed no signs of finishing his conversation so I left. Fortunately, the one guy was talking with Todd on the way out and I sorta met up with them. We walked past the EMC display at the welcome center and I mentioned the simulcast. The guy (Jim Habib) was pretty excited about the simulcast and said he was going. Then Todd asked him if he could say something on the radio about it. Radio? He works for 101.5. Sweet. I told him I had planned on putting it on the community calendar thing but he said he would take care of it and make an announcement too. He said just putting it on the calendar sometimes doesn't do a whole lot. So thanks Todd for doing what I was supposed to do. Maybe I'll learn something from this. Also Todd's been the best volunteer so far. I think he really likes it and if anyone ever wants him to help them with something I'm sure he'd love it if you'd just axe him.
